Although this isn't my favorite of her series, the Seabound trilogy makes an interesting story. Especially for fans of steampunk and nautical and machinery fantasy, this trilogy will make a fun, light, and entertaining read.
Yes I do! I'm just trying to get my head out of this book. I've lived in it since I started The Seabound Chronicles. The prequel to The Seabound Trilogy. I hated to see it end. I can't believe it's over. I will probably read it again one day.
The Yellowstone volcano finally erupts. Simon and his 6 year old daughter, Esther, are walking in the beautiful day down by the waterfront. Simon's wife and 8year old daughter are at a dental appointment. When the rupture occurs Simon and Esther run onto a cruise ship ready to leave. A college student, Judith, is out jogging and joins them on the ship along with many other people from the waterfront. They sail out to sea and it saves their lives.
Living at sea is difficult but they survive for 16 years. Esther grows from a small child to an adult and they have all grown to feel at home on the sea. There are many problems and adventures before them.
I loved this whole series. The characters were well developed. The stories were exciting, happy, sad, romantic, scary. Everything you could want in a book.
I would recommend this series to anyone who loves a great story. The author had a wonderful way with words and I hung on every one of them.
Not a bad read, good character development....but definitely for a teen age reader of sic fi...not so for an adult sic fi reader
Interesting and well-written story, with vivid and believable details about how humans would survive in a world devastated by a massive volcanic erruption.

I haven't read a series this entertaining in quite some time. Great story line, with lots of action. The main character, Esther, is a strong, engaging personality that should enthrall readers. I'm off to buy the prequel now.
Very original, what a take on the future ! I could really picture the environment very well as I read and got to like the heroine more and more, she is able and though and full of spirit but not superwoman... and she is in for many adventures !
